TESTIMONIALS
STRAIGHT FROM THE FEED
“The program has made a significant impact on our work. The innovation and exclusivity of RWAR has allowed us to target grade level skills in a culturally and socially relevant method while learning in one of the most aesthetically modern classroom settings.”
Dr. Otway (Principal), College Park ES
“Rapsody’s visit was monumental. Our mission at KC Girls Prep is for our young women to use their voice. To be able to see Rapsody live out our mission, encourage the voices of our scholars, and even affirm all of who they are truly moved our community. RWAR is a program where our culture is celebrated and nurtured. As a result of centering our culture, true learning was able to happen. I am honored that we were able to experience this amazing curriculum.”
Principal Tara Haskins, KCPA
“Reading with a Rapper provided the students with an opportunity to combine real world, culturally relevant music with the core of learning and expression. Students were able to learn standard based curriculum in a fun, nontraditional setting. While the impact on student achievement was great, there was also an impact on teacher morale. This program encouraged the teacher to see that outside of the box activities can foster true academic achievement.”
Principal Yolanda Bruce, Westbury High School (HIS)
